New reefer delivery

When reefer containers become scarce, Marfret increases availability for its customers by considerably expanding its fleet. Thus, in February, 2020, the company took delivery of 200 new reefer boxes, increasing its fleet to 3850 20’ and 40’ containers, a total capacity of 7000 TEUs. When events in Asia result in reefer capacity being at a standstill, such as with the outbreaks of swine flu and Covid-19, Marfret puts its reefers on its north-south routes. This provides capacity for exports of tropical fruit such as mangoes, grapes and melons from Northern Brazil, avocados, bananas and pineapples from Costa Rica and bananas from Colombia, not to mention Algerian dates, which are in season at the moment.
